Wanting to consolidate many departments currently spread throughout the Omaha Metro Area, Nebraska’s largest credit union chose Papillion, Nebraska to call their new home. It was important for this institution that their new corporate headquarters was an expression of appreciation and understanding that their member base is the key to their success. Rooted in the rolling hills of the site, the building is grounded with a solid black brick base that houses the public functions of the facility: retail branch, community room and four-story vertical atrium and continuous stair. Resting on this base, corporate departments are housed in a unitized curtain wall system that opens to the community by cantilevering out toward a highly visible city intersection.

Jury Comments: A good example where restraint keeps the form clear. Space is clean and simple. We like the way they use wood for warmth and texture. The atrium operates as a courtyard where the balcony engages, and the stair encourages social interaction.
