Formerly a virtually windowless brick monolith, the unwelcoming, solid blank façade of an Old Lincoln Telephone and Telegraph office building in Lincoln, Nebraska presented an opportunity to renovate not only the existing building but the adjacent streetscape. The new façade serves as a feature along a major corridor into downtown Lincoln’s Telegraph District, a project that revitalizes the industrial elements of the former Lincoln Telephone & Telegraph campus.
Jury Notes: A sign that undergoes constant natural change is an intriguing improvement to standard signage, and the delicacy of the connection detail is perfect.
