Wall is a 1,600 SF architectural intervention designed and built as a private art commission for a parking garage in downtown Omaha. Located along a prominent entertainment and infrastructure corridor in downtown Omaha, the Wall responds to and engages private building and public space. By combining, layering, and juxtaposing commonplace materials such as plastic light diffusers and construction fence, the multi-layered installation creates a vibrant pattern along the street. A moiré effect continually shifts as pedestrians, cyclists, automobiles, and trains pass by at various speeds. This momentary sensory experience invites people to slow down, divert their attention, and reframe their perspective of an industrial and sometimes unwelcoming public space.

Jury Comments: Simple means transform the whole experience of this façade. Night experience becomes radiant. Simple, controlled–very nice.
