HONORS EXCELLENCE IN DESIGN

AIA Nebraska, A Society of The American Institute of Architects, announced this year’s excellence in design winners in conjunction with their annual convention, Emerging Trends | Emerging Professionals, October 26 – 27, at The Cornhusker Hotel, in Lincoln, Nebraska.

AIA Nebraska presented 2 Honor Awards¸ 2 Merits and 4 Citations at this year’s Excellence in Design Gala, October 26, at The Country Club of Lincoln. The highlighted winning projects were selected from Nebraska architects by the following Colorado jury members: Jury Chair, Christopher Herr, AIA, Studio H:T, Sarah Semple Brown, AIA, Semple Brown Design and Tania Salgado, AIA, RNL.

The Excellence in Design program is an annual event for Nebraska architects who submit built and unbuilt projects for consideration. Categories for consideration include Architecture, Interior Architecture, Unbuilt and Details. Projects are judged based on a variety of features, including unique design, originality, extended use attributes, sustainability, budget and use of environmental surroundings.

Over 900 people voted in the first ever AIA Nebraska People’s choice award. This year AIA Nebraska offered the general public a chance to participate in a separate online voting process to determine the winners from the field of distinguished entrants.

AIA Nebraska supports architects in fulfilling their commitment to excellence in design and livability in our buildings and communities.
