NEW CONSTRUCTION / MERITEntry Name: US Data Corporation, Omaha, Nebraska This company requested the office space be designed as a physical manifestation of their business. The company sells information. Endless lists of data. The architects employed two means in which to represent the company. An etched glass conference room wall literally expresses the endless data the company sells. The graphic chosen was the zip codes of the major areas that the company does business in. A green wall/ceiling form was twisted, bent, folded and cut to create a dynamic space of movement representing the flow of data. Jury Comments: The color of this project jumps out and confronts you from the outset. Then, you begin to be captured by the geometry of the wall that organizes the workspace, and the intriguing litany of zip codes etched on the glass partitions. |
